Important Costs Decisions from the Court of Appeal (Jul 2006)

On behalf of the Hailsham Chambers Costs Group, Jamie Carpenter has written a note about the Court of Appeal's important decisions in Myatt v NCB and Garrett v Halton BC in which judgment was handed down on July 18th 2006.  Jamie acted for the NCB in the Myatt case at first instance and was successful.  He was unable to appear on the appeal because he is not on the Treasury Panel, but the Court of Appeal upheld the first instance decision essentially on the basis of the arguments advanced by Jamie before the court below.
