Leading barrister opts for Hailsham

10 April 2012 - Hailsham Chambers, one of the Bar's most highly respected sets, is delighted to welcome Fiona Neale, a specialist in the fields of clinical negligence and regulatory law. Fiona has left 3 Serjeants' Inn to take tenancy at Hailsham Chambers from Monday, 23 April 2012.

Fiona's move, in the wake of Andrew Post's and Alexander Hutton's recent success in this year's QC appointment round, means that the set can continue to offer clients a choice of first-class counsel at every level of seniority.

With five new QCs and six new juniors since 2010, Hailsham has continued to attract some of the Bar's most talented barristers. Under the leadership of Martin Spencer QC, new tenants have joined Hailsham from 4 New Square, Crown Office Chambers and now, 3 Serjeants' Inn. In addition, Chambers has won awards for both Junior of the Year and Set of the Year for its work in the field of professional negligence.

Commenting on the move Fiona said, "Hailsham Chambers is a natural fit for my practice. Its structure, culture, clients and members make it a highly attractive professional home. I will miss the friends I have made over many years at 3 Serjeants' Inn and I look forward to keeping in contact with them."

Martin Spencer QC replied with, "We are delighted that Fiona has decided to join Hailsham Chambers. With the appointment last week of two new silks, Andrew Post and Alexander Hutton, Fiona's arrival could not have come at a more opportune moment. She boosts our strength at the senior junior end of chambers and adds to it her own special brand of expertise and experience. In Chambers UK Guide to the Bar, the following is quoted of Fiona: ‘She has a complete air of authority and mastery of the subject, is a fiendish cross-examiner, and is always fantastically well prepared'. For these, and all her other fantastic qualities, she will make a wonderful addition to the team."
