Personal injury
Hailsham Chambers personal injury group consists of 32 members, including five QCs. We represent claimants and defendants in claims arising from injuries at work, road-traffic accidents and catastrophic head and spinal injuries. We can deliver quick and accurate quantum valuations and are experts at the drafting of accurate schedules and counter schedules.
- Claimant work: we have had a strong connection over many years with a number of unions, particularly the Royal College of Nursing. We have represented injured nurses since 1987. In addition, we have always enjoyed a large volume of claimant work, previously funded through legal aid and now through conditional-fee agreement arrangements.
- Defence work: we have had an equally strong connection with a number of the leading insurance companies. We are on the Norwich Union panel for heavyweight cases, representing them in the leading cases for spinal injury and head injury.
Members of this group regularly appear as keynote speakers at prominent industry events, including CLT conferences. We also contribute to the publication of the leading textbook in this field, Kemp and Kemp. Harvey McGregor QC is the author of the leading textbook McGregor on Damages with contributions from two further members of the group.
