David Horvath-Franco

David started pupillage in September 2025 and is a first-six pupil under the supervision of Niamh O’Reilly.

The main focus in his current seat has been on lawyers’ negligence claims. His first seat was in clinical negligence, where he was supervised by Catherine Ewins. He has drafted various pieces of work in the fields of professional liability and clinical negligence, including particulars of claim, defences, schedules of loss, counter-schedules of loss, skeleton arguments, advices and expert agendas. He has also attended hearings, client and expert conferences and settlement meetings.

David graduated with a first-class degree in Law from the University of Cambridge, has a postgraduate BCL from the University of Oxford and undertook judicial assistantships in the High Court and Court of Appeal. David is fluent in Spanish and has experience working in an American law firm on investor-State claims brought against South American countries. Immediately prior to pupillage, David worked as a paralegal in a commercial litigation boutique, where he worked on a range of matters. These included a contractual claim against an international mining company in the King’s Bench Division, a partnership dispute in the Chancery Division and a SIAC arbitration relating to a construction project in South-East Asia.

David begins his second six on 8 March 2026 and will be able to accept instructions from that date.
