David joined Hailsham as a tenant in September 2026 upon successful completion of his pupillage under the supervision of Catherine Ewins, Niamh O'Reilly and Imran Benson. He accepts instructions across all of Chambers’ practice areas.
During pupillage, David gained experience of a breadth of work done in Chambers, including professional negligence, clinical negligence, commercial law and costs. He drafted various pieces of work in these areas, including particulars of claim, defences, schedules of loss, counter-schedules of loss, skeleton arguments, advices and expert agendas. Further, during his second six, David acted for both claimants and defendants in a number of Small Claims matters and appeared for a supporting creditor in the High Court Winding-Up List.
Prior to coming to the Bar, David was clerk to a Lady Justice of Appeal and undertook judicial assistantships in both the High Court and Court of Appeal. David is fluent in Spanish and used this skill when working in an American law firm defending South American countries in investor-State arbitrations. Immediately prior to pupillage, David worked as a paralegal in a commercial litigation boutique, where he was an integral part of teams acting for both claimants and defendants in several high-value High Court claims and construction arbitrations.
