Amy Chapman

Amy welcomes instructions across the full spectrum of Chambers’ practice areas, including professional negligence, clinical negligence, commercial litigation, insurance law and inquests.

Amy’s recent instructions include:

• Acting for a bank in an APP civil fraud claim
• Advising a trust corporation on quantum in a professional negligence probate matter
• Advising a charity on limitation after a standstill agreement was entered into with the wrong entity
• Advising a train operating company on liability in a claim brought under the Equality Act 2010
• Acting for an NHS Trust in a 4-week inquest into the death of a serving prisoner at HMP Elmley
• Acting for solicitors in a disappointed beneficiaries claim
• Acting for solicitors in a strike out application involving a conveyancing matter
• Appearing in the High Court on the behalf of an NHS Trust in an infant approval hearing

Amy regularly appears in the County Court in small claim, fast track and multi-track trials, strike-out and summary judgment applications, CCMCs and other interlocutory applications.

Before coming to the Bar, Amy worked in corporate sales at a multi-national food company. She then spent one year working as a litigation paralegal at the Medical Protection Society. Amy has also spent time volunteering with the Centre for Women’s Justice, the School Exclusion Project and Assist Social Capital.
