Nicola is a recognised specialist in all aspects of medical law and personal injury. She draws on this experience in her professional liability work, where she specialises in claims arising out of allegedly mishandled litigation.

  • Shaw v Stead [2019] EWHC 520 – a GP claim relating to a delayed diagnosis of cauda equina syndrome
  • Bot v Barnick [2018] EWHC 3132; [2019] EWHC 3704 – separate applications dealing with a strike-out of a claim, alleging negligent misstatement by a doctor, and issues relating to expert evidence
  • Doyle v Habib [2021] EWHC 1733 – a claim relating to informed consent for liver surgery

Nicola has a wide range of experience of personal injury claims, including workplace accidents and occupiers’ liability. She has particular expertise dealing with high-level claims arising out of road traffic accidents, often relating to catastrophic and life-changing injuries.

Nicola is regularly asked to advise in relation to all aspects of quantum ranging from credit hire disputes to complex care packages and accommodation claims.
